Befang is a leading name in e-bike motor design. Operating for almost 20 years they are well established in the industry. They back this motor with a 1-year warranty. It’s built to last.
Located within the centre of the rear wheel, these motors are compact, light and discreet. High-power and high-torque is what you need in a bulkier cruiser.
Pedalling the bike will activate the motor, speeding you onwards with intelligent 1:1 pedal assist. If pedalling is not your thing, control your speed with the half-grip throttle. Just like a motorbike.

Brakes are a crucial component of any bike. You need to know you’re going to be able to stop safely suddenly. Especially when you’re motoring along with the high-powered high-torque motor. El Hefe does just that. TEKTRO mechanical disc brakes come fully fitted to the front and rear. Controlled with a pair of 3 finger blade squeeze levers at the handlebars.

At my age I needed strength and stability. I have a quarter KM of dirt road before I get to a sealed road at my house. I also have a very steep hill so the power was a big factor.

From the monent I saw the El Hefe, I knew this was the bike for me. Being a fairly big guy, I thought that its larger size would make me feel more at home and I wasn’t wrong! I use this bike a lot now and I’m amazed at how far I can travel using assistance from the motor. The styling is very cool as is the practicality. It is quite heavy but considering the amount of equipment and size of the bike, this is to be expected. I just love it!

It’s been more than a year now since I’ve sold my car and chosen to commute to work exclusively by bike. Alternating days on my road bike and ebike, I get to ride by the river and through park lands daily vs being stuck in traffic. 2 days on the Vamos El Hefe and 3 days on my road bike makes it sustainable and fun. I can honestly say that I’ve consistently had a brighter and more productive day as a result! I arrive to work happier and definitely energised which is a win for my students!

Absolutely love my new Vamos El Hefe Bike. Firstly, I wanted to back a local company, price was really good, reviews were good, gear (Shimano / Samsung) spot on. Really hard to fault. Customer service was brilliant, as was delivery (despite a slight delay which is down to customs and overall e-commerce being overwhelmed for all companies). Final comments – fairly basic to assemble, rides really well on the beach, road, tracks. Lights all easy to use. Super comfy. Thrilled with this thing. 👌🚴 🏄♂️ 🏝
I purchased the Vamos El Hefe at the end of January 2019 and it’s been spot on for commuting to and from work without breaking a sweat. The lo, med, hi power settings are really handy and the throttle really helps when you need a quick boost when riding in one of the lower power settings or if you stop pedalling. Although this bike is on the heavier side of other road bikes the brakes last a lot longer than expected. I did recently get a puncture on the rear wheel and the Vamos team was really helpful and responsive to come fix it. It’s really comfortable to ride and I really like the style. I’ve had it 10 months now and I still love it.
My commute to work is 9km one way and one charge easily does the two way journey on full power with three of the five l.e.d’s still lit on the battery.
Weighing up the battery life, durability, style, power and price I’d highly recommend this bike to anyone. It definitely beats catching the depressing bus to work.

Just got my El Hefe speedy delivery Sydney to Phillip Island in Victoria 2 days. Service and communication from the Vamos crew was excellent could not ask for better. The bike is stunning very well put together absolute beast of bike. Will be an ideal island commuter and beach cruiser. The video on here of an owner putting one together was helpful.

The El Hefe is a cruiser of strength & comfort with power to spare, just the bike for Summer!! Take it shopping with you as you carry your purchases in your pannier at the back rack! The rear motor can take you up to 40Kmh unladen also be sure to have tire pressures up to attchhive this speed.
So it is a bike for comfort as exercise is optional.
I’ve just received my new El Hefe. What a bike! I live in a hilly area & the bike flys up the hills with no problem. It’s comfortable, looks good & comes complete. Nothing else to buy. If you don’t have one, get one now!
[UPDATE] It’s been a year since I posted , so, I thought I’d update. I’m still loving my El hefe. Being over 60 & partially disabled, exercise can be problematic. With El Hefe, no problems. Comfortable seat, good gear range & good battery life. The customer service from the Vamos team has been exemplary. I’ve customised my bike, with a springer front forks & leather saddle bags, to give that vintage look.
I love my bike. I can’t recommend Vamos Bikes enough !

My El Hefe arrived last week and was packed so well it could have been delivered across the Himalayas on the back of a three-legged donkey and still would have got there in one piece. If this bike was an animal it would have the heart of a lion, the legs of a cheetah, and the look of a tiger. But to call it a bicycle is like calling the Burj Khalifa a building. This thing is a beast that should not be used by children or adults with a heart condition. I love it.

I have had my El Hefe for a few weeks now and consider it as one of the best purchases I have made. I bought it as an easy alternative for my commute to work each day. Most of my ride is along a bike track and after a few days was wondering why everyone was waving and saying hello as I rode past. I then realised/was told that it was cause I was smiling at everyone as we passed. Riding my new bike makes me happy and I can’t thank Vamos enough for making a product that really does do what it says it will do on the box.

Since Conrad dropped off my Vamos El Hefe cruiser e-bike, I feel like my world has opened up. It’s SO much easier to hit my daily surf checks of Bondi Beach, Tamarama and Bronte, and yesterday when the surf was small, I took myself on a ride of the hilly backstreets of Bronte to check out the swing overlooking Bronte Beach for the first time. An amazing way to clear my head and get those Sunday vibes flowing right!
