2. Setup Your Bike
All our bikes come delivered to you 85%+ pre-assembled. There should be no difficulties in setting up to get riding, regardless of your experience. Mostly it's just screwing and clipping things in. No complex tools are required.
Detailed instructions on how to set up your bike are provided in the manual, found above. If you’re more of a visual person and would like to see someone go through the entire setup process required for your bike watch the video below for your model.

3. Choose Your Rider Settings via the LCD Control Panel
Each e-bike comes complete with an LCD control panel, located on your handlebars. It will give you a range of settings that you can change and control at any time.
Set your bike up to your personal riding preference. Chose how you want the intelligent pedal assist to behave, battery saving options, alter your speed limit and more.
Each setting is fairly straightforward, so we’ve kept our descriptions brief.

I’ve just received my new El Hefe. What a bike! I live in a hilly area & the bike flys up the hills with no problem. It’s comfortable, looks good & comes complete. Nothing else to buy. If you don’t have one, get one now!
[UPDATE] It’s been a year since I posted , so, I thought I’d update. I’m still loving my El hefe. Being over 60 & partially disabled, exercise can be problematic. With El Hefe, no problems. Comfortable seat, good gear range & good battery life. The customer service from the Vamos team has been exemplary. I’ve customised my bike, with a springer front forks & leather saddle bags, to give that vintage look.
I love my bike. I can’t recommend Vamos Bikes enough !

It’s been more than a year now since I’ve sold my car and chosen to commute to work exclusively by bike. Alternating days on my road bike and ebike, I get to ride by the river and through park lands daily vs being stuck in traffic. 2 days on the Vamos El Hefe and 3 days on my road bike makes it sustainable and fun. I can honestly say that I’ve consistently had a brighter and more productive day as a result! I arrive to work happier and definitely energised which is a win for my students!
3000km now and still going strong. Unleash the beast! What’s surprising is that I don’t miss my car! El Hefe has been a trooper. What headwind?

Since Conrad dropped off my Vamos El Hefe cruiser e-bike, I feel like my world has opened up. It’s SO much easier to hit my daily surf checks of Bondi Beach, Tamarama and Bronte, and yesterday when the surf was small, I took myself on a ride of the hilly backstreets of Bronte to check out the swing overlooking Bronte Beach for the first time. An amazing way to clear my head and get those Sunday vibes flowing right!

Absolutely love my new Vamos El Hefe Bike. Firstly, I wanted to back a local company, price was really good, reviews were good, gear (Shimano / Samsung) spot on. Really hard to fault. Customer service was brilliant, as was delivery (despite a slight delay which is down to customs and overall e-commerce being overwhelmed for all companies). Final comments - fairly basic to assemble, rides really well on the beach, road, tracks. Lights all easy to use. Super comfy. Thrilled with this thing. ️

From the monent I saw the El Hefe, I knew this was the bike for me. Being a fairly big guy, I thought that its larger size would make me feel more at home and I wasn't wrong! I use this bike a lot now and I'm amazed at how far I can travel using assistance from the motor. The styling is very cool as is the practicality. It is quite heavy but considering the amount of equipment and size of the bike, this is to be expected. I just love it!

Got my El Hefe, a few probs putting it together correctly. The guys at Vamos were instantly answering emails at 9pm.
I'm 75 and lovin my bike. I'm 6'1". A good fit for me, very comfortable
At my age I needed strength and stability. I have a quarter KM of dirt road before I get to a sealed road at my house. I also have a very steep hill so the power was a big factor.
The clincher was an Aussie company. Thanks Vamos.
... and who'd a thunk? Never thought I'd need a surfboard carrier at 74. Perfect to carry my bow to archery on my El Hefe.
UPDATE: Just coming up to 1,000ks on my El Hefe. Zero probs and loving it.

Fantastic bikes - would highly recommend. Unbelievably comfortable seats, reliable, safe and speedy. Plus I looked like a total legend riding El Hefe

I purchased the Vamos El Hefe at the end of January 2019 and it's been spot on for commuting to and from work without breaking a sweat. The lo, med, hi power settings are really handy and the throttle really helps when you need a quick boost when riding in one of the lower power settings or if you stop pedalling. Although this bike is on the heavier side of other road bikes the brakes last a lot longer than expected. I did recently get a puncture on the rear wheel and the Vamos team was really helpful and responsive to come fix it. It's really comfortable to ride and I really like the style. I've had it 10 months now and I still love it.
My commute to work is 9km one way and one charge easily does the two way journey on full power with three of the five l.e.d's still lit on the battery.
Weighing up the battery life, durability, style, power and price I'd highly recommend this bike to anyone. It definitely beats catching the depressing bus to work.
