I always thought electric bikes are for old people (sorry mum and dad) but I since I started riding a bicycle in Bondi I realized I was wrong. No matter how hard I tried, my old bicycle couldn’t get me up Bondi’s hills. But (even to my own surprise) my new bike baby easily gets me up the steepest hills!Not only is riding an electric bike so much fun (it seriously almost feels like I’m on a scooter), it’s also a very eco friendly way of transport. A full battery only costs $0.15 (AUD) and lasts about 40km.I genuinely really absolutely truly LOVE this bicycle and I can’t believe how much easier it makes things. Maybe it’s the Dutch blood flowing through my veins, or maybe it’s just that this is a really awesome e-bike. Either way, if you live in Australia and you’ve been thinking about getting an electric bicycle I would really like to suggest hitting up the boys of Vamos Bikes for a test ride. You’ll be surprised!

My El Hefe arrived last week and was packed so well it could have been delivered across the Himalayas on the back of a three-legged donkey and still would have got there in one piece. If this bike was an animal it would have the heart of a lion, the legs of a cheetah, and the look of a tiger. But to call it a bicycle is like calling the Burj Khalifa a building. This thing is a beast that should not be used by children or adults with a heart condition. I love it.

From the monent I saw the El Hefe, I knew this was the bike for me. Being a fairly big guy, I thought that its larger size would make me feel more at home and I wasn't wrong! I use this bike a lot now and I'm amazed at how far I can travel using assistance from the motor. The styling is very cool as is the practicality. It is quite heavy but considering the amount of equipment and size of the bike, this is to be expected. I just love it!

I swapped out the handlebars for a more relaxed riding position with a bit more of a curved sweep. Added a small bike bag to carry personal items (wallet, phone, keys etc….). Performs well.

Love my Amigo Vamos electric bike! I commute to work almost every day by this as it saves me so much time. I don’t need to wait for the (slow) bus that’s almost always packed, can enjoy the sun on my face and some mild exercise. Got my El Hefe, a few probs putting it together correctly. The guys at Vamos were instantly answering emails at 9pm.I'm 75 and lovin my bike. I'm 6'1". A good fit for me, very comfortableAt my age I needed strength and stability. I have a quarter KM of dirt road before I get to a sealed road at my house. I also have a very steep hill so the power was a big factor.The clincher was an Aussie company. Thanks Vamos.... and who'd a thunk? Never thought I'd need a surfboard carrier at 74. Perfect to carry my bow to archery on my El Hefe.UPDATE: Just coming up to 1,000ks on my El Hefe. Zero probs and loving it.
